Romance in a book (usually a landmark), where does the term "rake" comes?
I have read some books on romance recent history (written about the early 1800s) and some of them refer to some men as "rakes" I'm English and the best I can get to the case of men who have a history of many women, not wanting to settle OT, etc. Am I right?
